世界一の牛肉のお話
2015年に公開されたドキュメンタリー映画『ステーキレボリューション』にて
世界一のステーキと絶賛された牛を育てた畜産農家ホセ・ゴードン牧場。
性別は100%去勢牛を飼育しており、
最も大きい牛になるき生体重量2,500kg(和牛の生体重量は約750kg)の牛もあり、17歳の牛が最年長です。
ホセ・ゴードン氏の畜産農家の特徴は超長期肥育。
通常和牛だと雄で26ヶ月、雌でさらに＋2ヶ月程でと畜されます
しかしホセ氏は一頭を育てるのに10年以上を費やし
餌代や人件費等のコストが単純に5倍以上かかります
